Cassis

During this excursion, I suggest you a walking tour into the city of Aix-en-Provence which was at the Roman time called Aquae Sextiae, the city of water...Today, the city is famous for many  fountains like the impressive  " Rotonde" at the entry of the city. Another remarkable one " the 4 Dolphins " with its baroque style. You will also enjoy the beauty of private mansions dating from the XVII and XVIII centuries and the famous Cours Mirabeau, the main avenue built for aristocrats to facilitate the access with their carriages.

Aix-en-Provence is also the hometown of the impressionist artist Paul Cezanne, who painted the nearby mountain St Victoire among many other paintings. You will see different places linked with the life of the artist like the school where he met Emile Zola, who became a famous french writer.

Different markets are also organized in the city ( daily market, flowers, etc...) that we can take in consideration if you are interested to buy local products.

Then we will go to  Cassis, which is a picturesque fishermen village famous for its white wine classified AOC. The town is also the starting point for a cruise (not included) to see the beautiful Calanques,  a kind of Mediterranean  Fjords  spread from Cassis to Marseille.

If the weathers conditions are good, I will take you to a special place "le Cap Canaille" which is the highest Europeen cliff from where you have an unforgettable panoramic view.

I remain at your entire disposable for further information.
