The  Lavender

Road

Do you know the difference between lavender and lavendine ? Only fine lavender has medecinal virtues and was already used during Roman time. Lavendine is a hybrid plant done by crossing fine lavender with spike lavender. Both plants look very similar but have slightly different colours.

During this tour, I will take you to lavender fields to smell its enchanting aroma.  We will stop to different places and take the time for pictures. I will also suggest  you to go to a traditional local distillery where flowers are transformed into essential oil. Then, we can go to the nearby village of Sault, the capital of lavender where you can taste a lavender icecream and enjoy shops where you can buy local products. We will head towards the Luberon area to see the Abbey of Senanque (with its famous lavendine field in front) built at the XII century and/or  the perched village of Gordes.

The lavender/lavendine blooming season starts mid-June until the beginning of August.
