The Alpilles

The Alpilles is a Regional Natural Park which spreads from Tarascon to St Martin of Crau and offers a breathtaking landscape of  limestone  formation and olive fields. During this tour, you will discover one of the best destination : "The Baux of Provence" classified among the most Beautiful Village in France. It was built on a rocky spur like an eagle nest, overlooking "the Valley of Hell".

Then, I will drive you through "The Valley of Les Baux" where you can find one of the biggest olive fields. It will be the opportunity for you to go into a local mill and taste olive oil. Afterward, we will visit St Remy de Provence, a little town quite typical of the region with its many fountains and charming atmosphere (weekly market on Wednesday). You will also see  two monuments called "The Antic of Glanum"  built during the Roman time and well preserved.

I will suggest you the visit of "Les Carrières de Lumières" nearby the village of "Les Baux". It is a spectacular show  which takes place in an ancient limestone quarry  and where huge images are projected on the wall (entry is not included). The second option is to walk to Fontvieille to discover "Le Moulin de Daudet" a windmill situated in the heart of The Alpilles. The site was a place of inspiration for Alphonse Daudet, a famous french writer from the XIX century.

Possibility to have lunch in a castle from the XVIII century, set in a peaceful place surrounded by huge vineyards and olive fields.

I remain at your entire disposal for further information.
